Travel Make Up Bag

Hello lovelies!

I'm back with a new post in the new year! Happy (late) 2015! I just came back from my holiday break in Spain where I also "celebrated" New Years Eve (meaning: I stayed in my hotel room because I was feeling poorly!). Today I thought I'd show you what make up I took with me on my holidays. Hope you enjoy!

First of look at my cute bag! My mum's co-worker designed and made this herself and I'm absolutely in love with it. I don't know what it is but lately I've been obsessed with deer prints so this one is my new fav!

For an even base I took my Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream with me. I just repurchased this as my old one, that I bought back in June, ran out - can't believe it actually lasted me that long. I've done a review on this here! I apply this with my ebeline makeup sponge. Next up is my new favourite concealer: the Maybelline FitMe concealer in the shade 15! This is super creamy, gives great coverage and stays put throughout the day.

I fill in my brows with the IQ Cosmetics Eyebrow Pencil in the brown shade and then go over them with the Maybelline Brow Drama in Dark Blond. I've recently dyed my brows and find that this combo works best on my now darker brows!

I took only two eyeshadows with me: a light champagne shade from GOSH, this is "01" from an old gift set that I once got from my Secret Santa. And a brown shimmery shade from essence with the name  "09 Get Ready!". I should probably bin both of them because of their expiration date - but up until now they've been fine. To make them last longer I used my Pro-Base Eye Primer from Makeup Academy (review here).

The next product is the Look by Bipa Eyeliner Liquid: I picked this up for my Halloween makeup (instagram photo here - follow me if you fancy) which it was fine for, but for an everyday cat flick it definitely isn't my favourite as it smudges easily, so I don't think I'll be repurchasing it!

I curl my lashes with the ebelin eyelash curlers and then coat them with the Maybelline Volum' Express The Falsies Flared Mascara (that's the german name on the product for you ;D). Sometimes I go over them again with the essence I Love Extreme Crazy Volume Mascara for some extra drama.

To finish off I powder my face with the Real Techniques Powder Brush and Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder in "55 Beige Foncé" and slightly contour my face with my favourite bronzer MUA Mosaic Powder in "Natural Glow" (read my review here) and a brush from superdrug.

And that's all the makeup I took with me on holiday - excluded the lipsticks in my handbag, if you want to see those just let me know in the comments below! I hope you have a great day!

Also there is still some time to enter my MAC lipstick giveaway - check it out here!

xx Ann-Kathrin

LUSH Haul

Hello lovelies!

Yes this is another LUSH haul coming your way right now - are you ready?

I had a little time in between my Uni lectures last week and happend to be wandering past a LUSH store and couldn't just walk past, so I dragged my best (male) friend inside.

Since it's getting cooler and cooler outside I figured why not treat myself with some gorgeous smelling bath bombs? The first one I picked up was "Butterbear" - look how cute it is! The lady in LUSH recommended this for dry skin as it's really nourishing thanks to the contained cocoa butter and ylang ylang oil. It smells like vanilla with a slight hint of cocoa (due to the contained cocoa powder). Butterbear was the cheapest out of the bunch with 3,95€.

Up next is "Dragon's Egg" I've seen this one in several other LUSH hauls and just really wanted to give it a go. It actually doesn't look too exciting on the outside, just a plain white bath bomb, but I think there's something colourful hidden inside. This bath bomb has a really fresh citrus scent and contains lemon oil, bergamot oil and there's also some popping candy hidden so I guess I'm in for a surprise! I'll definitely let you know more about this after I've used it. This was 5,95€.

I also got "Phoenix Rising": this bath bomb is a pure beauty, I love the purple and gold shimmer it has. The cinnamon scent is really rich and strong, really luxurious! I can't wait to drop this into my bath tub! I paid 5,75€ for this.

And last but not least I got something christmassy: "Holly Golightly". This looks super festive with all the silver glitter and the holly leaf. This bath bomb is entirely green on the inside though - so it will make my bath water turn into a great colour. I'm a bit scared how to get rid of the glitter in the bath tub afterwards though. It also smells like christmas to me, like clove and a bit of cinnamon! This was the most expensive one I purchased at 6,95€.

Have you bought anything from LUSH recently? Would you like to try any of the products I go?

xx Ann-Kathrin

MAC "Oblivion" - Rocky Horror Picture Show Limited Edition

Hello lovelies!

As I mentioned in my September Favourites post last week I absolutely love the "Rocky Horror Picture Show" and whilst browsing the web looking for some pictures of the actors today (yep a weird thought but hey haha!) I stumbled upon the rumour that MAC Cosmetics are bringing out a Limited Edition range all about the Frank-n-Furter and co! I looked a bit further and found out that this was true and so the next change I got I popped into the MAC store to ask for the release date.

The lady at the store was so lovely and really helpful, she told me that the release had been pushed back to the end of October. At first I was a bit gutted but she asked to write down my number so she could give me a ring if it arrived earlier! So last week on monday I got the call that the collection will be in on wednesday. I went in the next day and came out with this little beauty! I actually was really lucky to get my paws on it because even though I was at the store 3 hours after opening there were only 4 lipsticks in the shade "Oblivion" left!

Oblivion is a lipstick with an amplified créme finish. I would describe the colour as a blood-red with slight blue undertones. This lipstick is a bright pop of colour and definitely an eye-catcher - I already got lots of compliment when I wore it on a night out (which isn't the worst thing eh?). The formular feels really lovely, it glides onto the lips smoothly and also feels nourishing on the lips.

you can also see my new hair colour and piercing here! what do you think?
As with all MAC products the packaging is gorgeous and sleek but this Limited Edition is clearly a winner! I love how the characteristic Rocky Horror Logo - the lips - was used on all the products from this range. I actually feel pretty special owning such a gorgeous lipstick bullet! ;)

And of course this lipstick also has the typical vanilla scent that all MAC lipsticks have.

Have you seen this collection in stores already? Do you want to get something for yourself? If so what?

Have a lovely day,

xx Ann-Kathrin

USA Beauty Wish List

USA Beauty Wish List

USA Beauty Wish List from annxkathrin

Hello lovelies!

Since you seemed to have enjoyed my last Wish List post (see here!) I thought I'd do another one for you! And it's also a wish list that I'll give to my aunt - she lives in America and is coming to visit in August. So I'm taking the opportunity to get my hands on some make up bits that I can't get in Austria or that are cheaper in the states!

I've heard lovely things about the NYX Butter Glosses and that's why there are two on my wish list! The shades that I chose are "Strawberry Parfait" and "Peaches & Cream". I've looked at swatches and fell in love with those two!

Another NYX product I've had my eye on is their Powder Blush in "Taupe". I've heard many people talk about this as being great for contouring so I wanted to give it a go. I also want to get the shade "Summer Peach".

Benefits Hoola Bronzer has been on my wish list for some time now! I've never tried any benefit products before so this will be a first! And I can't wait to try it out!

And the last thing, that unfortunately I couldn't find on polyvore but that I really want to try, is the Physicians Formular Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Blush! Can we just talk about how pretty this looks? GOSH! I saw Fleur de Force talk about this in one of her videos and ever since then I wanted to get my hands on it!

And that's everything on my current wish list! I want to add some more products so please let me know what other USA beauty products I need to add on this list! What is on your current Beauty wish list?

xx Ann-Kathrin

Tips Tuesday #2

Hello beauties!

Another tuesday, another nail polish I need to share with you! I chose the Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint in the colour "Greenberry" today:

Greenberry is lovely bright turquoise green shade. It's a total eye-catcher and perfect for summer! I love bright nails so I was drawn to this hue straight away!

I was really curious to find out how this gel-like formular performs and looks on the nails. But I have to say I was a bit underwhelmed when I first applied it. Don't get me wrong: I love the colour and how vibrant it is, but I think I was just expecting something different, more like gel from the nail salon.

I think this formular requires a bit more practice and patience (which I clearly don't have haha). I needed a good two coats to get a nice opaque finish and get rid of the streaks I created with the first one. I ended up applying three coats - which unfortunately makes it prune to chipping faster.

Anyways, I feel like I'm rambling on too much about this. My conclusion is that I absolutely love the colour and just need to deal with my impatience and shaky hand when applying nail polish!

What do you think of the Barry M Hi-Shine Gelly Nail Paints? What's your favorite shade?

June Favourites

Hello lovelies!

Okay so I titled this post as "May Favourites" at first - if that's not a sign for me not realizing how time is flying by, then I don't know what is. Anyways, I've put together a little list of beauty and non-beauty related things that I've loved throughout the month of June!

I've been loving the Dove Purely Pampering Nourishing Lotion with almond cream and hibiscus and this product skins into the skin so quickly and leaves it so soft and smooth. And the smell is just divine! A friend actually recommended me the lotion that smells of pistachios and magnolia which is on my wish list for next time!

I've enjoyed my "Brightside" bath bomb from LUSH. Unfortunately I can't put it on the photo anymore because it gone! But I've blogged about this already so go and have a look at that here.

I finally purchased the Rimmel Kate Matte Lipstick in "Wine 107" and I've been loving this beautiful wine coloured red! I know a lot of people rave about this and that's just because it looks really lovely. It's also doesn't leave my lips too dry even though it's a lipstick with matte finish. And it smells really great too!

Another favourite of mine has been the PS Love Your Nails Nail Polish Twist Pot for instant nail varnish removal. I purchased this on a trip to Primark while being in Manchester and thought it would be an easy way to remove my chipped nail varnish - and it is. You just stick your finger in, twist it against the pre-soaked sponge and after taking out, you're good to go! It also doesn't have a horrible smell like other nail varnish removers.

And how could I write a June Favourites post and not mention the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette I treated myself to? I've loved trying out some different eye make ups with it. My favourite combination at the moment is "Bootycall" all over the lid, "Tease" in the outer corner and crease and also a bit of "Pistol" in my crease. I can't wait to use it even more - I'm excited to do a special going out make up look with it!

I've also finished the sixth and last book of The Mortal Instruments series: City of Heavenly Fire! Okay.. WOW. Can we just talk about all those plot twists and stuff that happened?! I literally can't believe how much happened haha. If you haven't read the series please go and do it - you won't be disappointed! And if you have: what did you think about this?
Also I don't have the actual copy on the photos because I've but it in a parcel that I've already sent of home to Austria.

Have you already listened to Ed Sheerans new album "x"? If not go and give it a listen! I've been totally loving it! I'm actually listening to it while writing down this post. I'll definitely purchase the CD soon, but for now I'll listen to it on youtube. My favourite songs are "Don't""Thinking Out Loud" and "Afire Love". I'm also really gutted I couldn't get tickets to see him in concert in Vienna in July!

And my biggest favourite this month has to be the One Direction concert I went to! Yes I have to admit to you that I'm a little fangirl! I bought myself the ticket as my reward for completing my final exams and finishing secondary school last June. So I've been looking forward to this concert for a year now - crazy huh? So on saturday the 7th of June I took the train down to London, met up with two of my best friends and off we went to Wembley Stadium. The concert was just AMAZING - I can't even say more than that! A nice bonus was that 5 Seconds Of Summer were their support group because I love them as well!

What have you been loving this month? Leave me a comment and let me know some of your favourites!

xx Ann-Kathrin

Tips Tuesday #1

Hello lovelies!

Recently I've become a bit of a nail varnish addict and hoarder and while painting my tips the other day I came up with a new idea! I thought I'd start a little series on my blog to share my nail polish stash with you all. This is also a nice way to force myself to dug into my stash and try out polishes that I might have forgotten about. So here we go with the first edition of Tips Tuesday:

I chose essie's "Peach Daiquiri" for this weeks tips! I just can't stop staring at it, when I wear it on my nails! It's a perfect peachy coral colour and therefor a great summer colour! I think this will look lovely with a nice tan. Also the cute name makes me wanna sip cocktails in the sun with my feet in the sand! Speaking of feet - this also looks gorgeous on your toes!

The quality of essie nail polishes is impressive! I never thought I would jump on this bandwagon but about 2 months ago I purchased my first ever essie nail polish and fell in love. The applicator is a great size as it's quite big, but not too huge. I love that the consistency of the varnish is not too runny but also not too sticky! It applies really smooth and easy. And with "Peach Daiquiri" I had a great result after just two coats!

As for the staying power: I work with my hands a lot and wash them quite often, so I'm by no means the best example for chip-resistant nails. I'm yet to find a nail varnish that stays on chip-free for more than 3 days!

I also used this MUA Clear Top Coat as a base coat and top coat to finish my nails off.

And that's it for the first Tips Tuesday (#TT anyone?!). I hope you enjoyed this quick midweek post and are looking forward to the next one? I'll be posting these every week from now on :)

What has been on your nails this week?

Have a great day,

xx Ann-Kathrin

Everyday Make Up Routine - Summer Edition

Hello lovelies!

Today I bring you my first ever Make Up Routine post! I've recently changed up my everyday make up routine for summer and I actually fell in love with it - am I even allowed to say that?!

It's nothing extra fancy or special, just a simple everyday look:

I start off by using the simple kind to skin light moisturiser to prep my face before using the Bourjois 123 Perfect CC cream in 31 Ivory. I either applied this with just my hands or my Real Techniques Buffing Brush. For under eye circles and spots I use the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in the shade Light 2.

I then powder my face with Rimmel Londons Stay Matte Pressed Powder in 001 Transparent and the RT Blush Brush. Afterwards I move on to my eyebrows for which I use a mixture of the two powder from the Along Came Betty Br-Wow! brow kit. I've been loving an eyeshadow from essence that I've had for probably ages now: it's "09 get ready" which is a lovely brown with a slight shimmering effect. I apply it with an eyeshadow bush from KIKO ("eye 202").

To coat my lashes I use either the L'Oréal miss manga mascara or the essence maximum length volume mascara. At last I take my Bourjois Délíce de Poudre to bronze and contour my face with the RT Contour Brush.

My lip product of choice on these photos was the Rimmel Apocalips in the shade "Galaxy" - which I adore. And that's pretty much it!

Also please excuse that my eyebrows don't look to tidy! I'm currently trying to grow them out, which is such a hard task- ugh!

I hope you enjoyed this blog post. Would you like to see more of these Face Of The Day posts? And what do you think of my look?

Bourjois 123 Perfect Colour Correcting Cream Review

Hello beauties!

Today I've got a review of the Bourjois 123 Perfect Colour Correcting Cream (now that's a mouthful!) for you! It's been a long time coming but finally I've managed to put it into words haha

I've purchased this back at the beginning of April as I felt I needed something lighter to put on my face for the summer. I've read so many good reviews about this and I just had to see for myself. This also was my first time using a BB or CC cream. I have to say I really like it and have been using it almost every single day since purchasing it!

First thing I've noticed when applying it to my face was the nice smell! I've also had compliments on how nice my makeup smells after I hugged people Hello while wearing this - is that good or bad? I really don't know haha But don't worry the scent is really not too strong - I don't actually notice it once it's applied, just when squeezing it out of the tube. Talking about that: you have to be very careful when squeezing it out because the formular is very runny and thin coming out of the tube. But it's really easy to apply! I usually put this CC cream on with only my hands and achieve nice results. You can of course apply it with a brush - for those of you who don't want their hands to get dirty - and get great results.

This CC cream blends really well and looks very natural. It makes your skin look luminous and gives a nice, dewy finish. It's also really light-weight and doesn't look cakey on the face at all.

The product contains 3 pigments for colour correction: apricot pigments to go against signs of fatigue, green for anti-redness and white pigments to conceal dark spots. I'd say the coverage is light to medium, but it's very buildable so you can easily cover problematic spots or blemishes!

Unfortunately I think the colour range isn't the best! There's only four different shades available which is a bit poor. I chose the colour "31 Ivory". Anyways I would definitely pick it up if you can find the right shade for you because it's a really lovely base product, especially for the hotter months of the year! It also has SPF 15 and is supposed to give 24 hour hydration.

This product retails for £9.99 at Boots which I think is a reasonable price!

Have you tried this product yourself or are you planning on trying? What's your favourite CC cream?

Have a lovely day,

xx Ann-Kathrin

Two 3 for 2 Hauls

Hello everybody!

Oooh what can I say I bloody love 3 for 2 offers! I think it's a great way to buy products that I probably wouldn't treat myself to if they were the usual price. I might be tricking myself there but oh well. I thought I would combine my two recent 3 for 2 purchases and bring you one big Haul.

I bought these products back in the middle of April when Boots had a big 3 for 2 offer on all the make up ranges.

The Bourjois 123 Color Correcting Cream was something I really wanted to try after seeing it float around in the blogosphere. And since it's spring/summer time I thought I'd ditch the foundation on a day-to-day basis and replace it this lightweight CC cream. I've featured this in my May Favourites because I really love it and use it constantly!

I also found myself in front of the essie counter and since I've always wanted to try their nail varnish I treated myself to two shades: "A Splash of Grenadine" and "Lapiz of Luxury". I have to say it saw soo hard do decide on just two because their colour range is soo beautiful!

"A Splash of Grenadine" is a pretty magenta pink and the perfect summer shade and has made it into my May Favourites as well!

"Lapiz of Luxury" is a lovely ocean blue, with what I see as a grey undertone. I think it looks really sophisticated.

In the middle of May I was drawn in by Superdrug and their 3 for 2 offer on make up! And of course I had to buy something, it would be rude not to - right?

The Rimmel London Apocalips Lip Laquers caught my eye and I had to get the shade "Galaxy". It's just such a pretty colour and I was really interessed in the formular of the lip laquers since I haven't had one before. And it's since become my go-to lip product! I love the creaminess, colour payoff and just everything about it.

Also on this trip I found myself drawn to the essie counter. This time I purchased the gorgeous peachy coral pink hue "Peach Daiquri" because I fell in love with it in the shop! Also one of my May Favourites and a go-to product ever since buying it.

The other essie polish I bought is the well-known and loved "Lilacism". I actually haven't worn this on my tips yet but I'm excited to put it on! It's such a cute light lilac hue, as the name suggests.

And that's everything I've purchased during the last 3 for 2 offers. I'm already looking forward to some new and great offers in the future ;)

What's one of your recent purchases? Is there something I need to get with the next offer?

xx Ann-Kathrin

"Before I Leave" Wish List

"Before I Leave" Wishlist

"Before I Leave" Wish List von annxkathrin
Hello lovelies!

Okay I'm just realizing how misleading this title might seem - but don't worry! This post is a wish list of beauty products that I want to purchase before I leave England in a month to go home to Austria! All these products are either things I can't get in Austria at all, products that are way cheaper here or just easier to get!

I've also used Polyvore for the first time to create this wish list - such a great little site!

The first thing on my wish list is the Naked 2 palette by Urban Decay which has been on my list for what seems like ages! I've been drooling over this for soo long and I think I really need to treat myself to this one before I leave! Update: After writing down this list I actually purchased this - whooo!

theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer has had such rave reviews and after reading some of them I knew I had to have it! This would be my very first highlighter ever and I think I won't be disappointed with it as it looks just so gorgeous.

The Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Sultry is a new addition to this wish list, I've seen some swatches and fell in love. I really need to pick this up on my next trip to Boots!

Another lip product I'm craving is MAC's Plumful lipstick. Unfortunately I couldn't find it on Polyvore that's why it's not the right colour on here. But I've seen Estée from essiebutton talk about this in one of her videos and since then I've had my eye on this!

The Body Shop Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder just looks so perfect and I have to have it! End of story!

And the last thing on this wish list is the Real Techniques Powder Brush. I already own some RT brushes and they are such nice quality, that's why I want to add this brush to my collection. Update: Bought this one as well!

That's my wish list for now! But I'm sure I can add some more products on it soon, as I'm always wanting products that I see on other blogs - thanks to all the great bloggers out there my bank account will burst ugh!

Also I can't believe there's only one month left of my time in England! Seriously where has the time gone?!

I hope you enjoyed this blog post and I'd love to know what is one product on your current wish list - leave me a comment below!

xx Ann-Kathrin

May Favourites

Hello lovelies!

It's that time of the month again where everybody, included myself, talks about what they have been loving for the past weeks! I missed out on an April Favourites post simply because nothing really stood out to me that much. But because of that I've got lots of things to talk about in this post! So let's get on with it!

Firstly I have to express my love for the Bourjois 123 Perfect Colour Correcting Cream! Now I know that almost every blogger in the blogosphere has already raved about this but that's because it's actually that good! I've never tried any BB or CC creams before so I can't compare it but this has become a firm essential in my make up bag for the last one and a half months! I might do a full review on this in the near future - so keep your eyes peeled!

On a splurge in Boots I also bought my first ever essie nail laquers! One of them has been on my tips throughout April and most of May and that's why it has to be included in this: "A Splash Of Grenadine"It's a gorgeous magenta pink which is a perfect summer shade for me!

Near the end of the May (on another splurge) I also discoverd essies "Peach Daiquri" which is a perfect peachy coral hue with a lovely name!

Another nail varnish has made it into this favourites list and it's another "first time ever" product: Sally Hansen "Pedal To The Metal". I picked this up for half the price at ASDA and even though it's not a summer hue, I've worn it multiple times.

My lip product of the month has to be the "Natural Lip Roll-On" by The Body Shop. It's moisturizing, doesn't leave the lips greasy and has a lovely mint taste. It also feels cooling applied to the lips and helps my (apparently always) chapped lips!

My non-beauty favourite and new obsession is the series "Breaking Bad"! I've finished season 1 to 3 and I need to get my hands on the DVD set of series 4 and 5! I really don't know why I haven't started watching this earlier, especially since nearly everybody was praising it so much! But I finally started and it's sooo good. If you follow me on twitter (@annxkathrin) you might have seen a tweet or two about this. And just to let you know how severe my obsession is: yep I watched the whole first series in one day. Nothing more to add to this I guess haha

Music-wise I've also had some new discoveries! I love finding "new" music and expanding my horizon. This month I've loved the album "xx" by "The XX". I know this came out a long time ago but can I just tell you how great this is? It's so relaxing and beautiful.

Another album I've been listening to a lot is "If You Wait" from "London Grammar". I have to say I didn't like it too much the first time I've listened to it, but after several times I really got into it. Like The XX this is really relaxing and calming.

And that's pretty much everything I have for you today! I hope you enjoyed reading. Please let me know what your favourites this month were!

xx Ann-Kathrin

Collection Eyeliner Comparison

Hello lovelies!

Today I bring you a comparison of two eyeliner products from Collection! These products being the Fast Stroke Eyeliner and the Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner.

A while back I picked up the Fast Stroke Eyeliner in a hurry and in the need for a new eyeliner. I remember mentioning this and also my concerns about it in my big Beauty Haul. My concerns were that I wouldn't get along with the formular and that this might have been an unlucky pick. But I gave it a trial phase anyways - I can't stand wasting products! But after trying it out properly and using it daily, I realized that it really wasn't for me!

My problem with it is that whenever I put it on, one swipe usually isn't enough. It either looks wobbly or the colour pay-off isn't good enough. So I always end up needing another swipe on top - but whenever I do that, the applicator just takes off the colour I just applied, rather than adding more. In the end it just looks really messy and not defined at all. The product also needs a long time to dry, so if you blink right after applying it, you'll end up with Panda-eyes - not the best look in my opinion!

Fast Stroke Eyeliner

So after struggling with the Fast Stroke Eyeliner for some time I decided that I needed to change to another product so my daily make up routine wouldn't end in a screaming fit everyday haha a little exaggeration there ;)

So I went into Boots and somehow ended up in front of the Collection stand again and thought I'd give them another try! This time I took my time and didn't just grab the first product I saw. And that's how the Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner ended up in my basket.

This product is so easy to use and gives you a great result! As the name suggests it has an felt tip pen applicator which makes it really easy to apply. You just swipe it on your lid and Bob's your uncle (sorry had to include this expression as I love it! haha I'm such a weird foreigner sorry!).  I love the colour intensity of it as well, it gives a great black line and you don't have to go over it anymore!

Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tips Liner

I also find that this the Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner lasts longer on my eye lids and doesn't smudge as easy as the Fast Stroke Eyeliner.

I would definitely recommend the Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner if you are looking for a great and easy to use eyeliner! Both products are available at Boots, the Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner retails for £2,99 but unfortunately I can't find the Fast Stroke Eyeliner online at the moment!

Have you tried any of these products before? If so how did you get on? And what's your current eyeliner favourite?

xx Ann-Kathrin
