MAC "Oblivion" - Rocky Horror Picture Show Limited Edition

Hello lovelies!

As I mentioned in my September Favourites post last week I absolutely love the "Rocky Horror Picture Show" and whilst browsing the web looking for some pictures of the actors today (yep a weird thought but hey haha!) I stumbled upon the rumour that MAC Cosmetics are bringing out a Limited Edition range all about the Frank-n-Furter and co! I looked a bit further and found out that this was true and so the next change I got I popped into the MAC store to ask for the release date.

The lady at the store was so lovely and really helpful, she told me that the release had been pushed back to the end of October. At first I was a bit gutted but she asked to write down my number so she could give me a ring if it arrived earlier! So last week on monday I got the call that the collection will be in on wednesday. I went in the next day and came out with this little beauty! I actually was really lucky to get my paws on it because even though I was at the store 3 hours after opening there were only 4 lipsticks in the shade "Oblivion" left!

Oblivion is a lipstick with an amplified créme finish. I would describe the colour as a blood-red with slight blue undertones. This lipstick is a bright pop of colour and definitely an eye-catcher - I already got lots of compliment when I wore it on a night out (which isn't the worst thing eh?). The formular feels really lovely, it glides onto the lips smoothly and also feels nourishing on the lips.

you can also see my new hair colour and piercing here! what do you think?
As with all MAC products the packaging is gorgeous and sleek but this Limited Edition is clearly a winner! I love how the characteristic Rocky Horror Logo - the lips - was used on all the products from this range. I actually feel pretty special owning such a gorgeous lipstick bullet! ;)

And of course this lipstick also has the typical vanilla scent that all MAC lipsticks have.

Have you seen this collection in stores already? Do you want to get something for yourself? If so what?

Have a lovely day,

xx Ann-Kathrin

"Before I Leave" Wish List

"Before I Leave" Wishlist

"Before I Leave" Wish List von annxkathrin
Hello lovelies!

Okay I'm just realizing how misleading this title might seem - but don't worry! This post is a wish list of beauty products that I want to purchase before I leave England in a month to go home to Austria! All these products are either things I can't get in Austria at all, products that are way cheaper here or just easier to get!

I've also used Polyvore for the first time to create this wish list - such a great little site!

The first thing on my wish list is the Naked 2 palette by Urban Decay which has been on my list for what seems like ages! I've been drooling over this for soo long and I think I really need to treat myself to this one before I leave! Update: After writing down this list I actually purchased this - whooo!

theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer has had such rave reviews and after reading some of them I knew I had to have it! This would be my very first highlighter ever and I think I won't be disappointed with it as it looks just so gorgeous.

The Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Sultry is a new addition to this wish list, I've seen some swatches and fell in love. I really need to pick this up on my next trip to Boots!

Another lip product I'm craving is MAC's Plumful lipstick. Unfortunately I couldn't find it on Polyvore that's why it's not the right colour on here. But I've seen Estée from essiebutton talk about this in one of her videos and since then I've had my eye on this!

The Body Shop Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder just looks so perfect and I have to have it! End of story!

And the last thing on this wish list is the Real Techniques Powder Brush. I already own some RT brushes and they are such nice quality, that's why I want to add this brush to my collection. Update: Bought this one as well!

That's my wish list for now! But I'm sure I can add some more products on it soon, as I'm always wanting products that I see on other blogs - thanks to all the great bloggers out there my bank account will burst ugh!

Also I can't believe there's only one month left of my time in England! Seriously where has the time gone?!

I hope you enjoyed this blog post and I'd love to know what is one product on your current wish list - leave me a comment below!

MAC Diva Lipstick Review

Hello lovelies!

When I woke up to a twitter notification a few weeks ago I couldn't believe my eyes! The lovely Ana announced the winner of her MAC lipstick giveaway and, yes oh my god, I WON! I couldn't contain my excitment! And I still can't believe that I was lucky enough to win! I've never won anything in my life before - so you can guess just how excited I was!

The price of the giveaway was a MAC lipstick of your choice and I went with a classic and much talked about one: DIVA!

First of I have to say it's a little bit out of my comfort zone! I feel like everybody will be starring at me when I'm wearing this lipstick but I think stepping out of my comfort zone and out of my habit of just wearing pinky and very girly lipstick shades is a good thing - don't you agree?

Diva is a gorgeous red lipstick which I would describe as a dark wine red or maybe burgundy shade. I think it looks very different (and a bit "scary") in the lipstick bullet than when actually applied to the lips. But you can also build up the colour even more to get an even darker and intenser result.

It's a lipstick with a matte finish. This of course is a very different finish to the MAC Cosmo lipstick that I own, which has an amplified creme finish. I find that the matte finish can feel quite drying on the lips, but that's what I expected as I read a few reviews of this before.

As of right now I can't say anything about the staying power because I haven't been brave enough to wear it out in public! But I heard it's got a pretty good staying power and seeing as it's a matte lipstick, I bet it does!

I personally find it a bit hard to work with, just because I feel it can look like it's "bleeding" or "washed out at the edges" (if that makes any sense?!). But this problem can probably be solved by using a lip liner - do you have any product suggestions for me?

The taste of this lipstick, again, is very nice and that's important to me as well. If it doesn't taste or smell nice I wouldn't want to put it on my lips (is that a bit weird?). This lipstick retails for £15 on the MAC Cosmetics homepage!

I'll definitely start using Diva for nights out first, until I pick up the courage to wear this vampy lipstick during the day! It would be a shame if it never saw the sunlight (uuh was that a pun right there?! haha)

Another huge thank you Ana for hosting this giveaway! Also please head over to her blog and give it a read and maybe a follow as it's just fab!

What's your favourite MAC lipstick finish? And what lipsticks are a must-have in your opinion?

MAC Cosmo Lipstick Review

Hello everybody!

As I mentioned in my March Favourites post I've got a product that I rediscovered in my make up stash that I'd love to review for you today! And the product I'm talking about is the MAC Cosmetics lipstick in "Cosmo"!

I got this lovely lipstick from a friend for last years christmas present and somehow I never reviewed it for you! Which is odd since I was soo excited and over the top to receive this! It is in fact my first ever MAC product! And nope you're not the only one shocked - my friend who gifted me with this was shocked as well! haha

First of all I need to say that there is some kind of satisfaction to own one of those sleek black lipsticks with the words MAC on them. Yes now I get it - finally! The packaging is beautiful and classy. No more to add to that!

So now on to the lipstick itself: it's a beautiful pink which looks much darker in the tub and swatched, than when applied to the lips. Once applied, I would describe it as a "my lips but better" pink shade!

please excuse my horrible dry hands!
here a slightly blurry instagram selfie with the lippie - but I swear without a filter :P

It has a amplified creme finish which I love as it's creamy, light and I feel it moisturizes my lips and doesn't leave them dried out! But as I've never owned any other MAC lipsticks I can't say if that's the case with all amplified creme finish lipsticks!

It also has a lovely taste and scent! I don't really like products that smell to "cosmeticy" (is that even a word? No.. well you know what I mean, hopefully!) but that's no problem with this one!

For me it's the perfect daytime lipstick as it's not too bright but still is a beautiful colour on your lips! It has become my go-to lipstick and is now a must-have in my bag (along with some other well-loved lip products!). And I think I'll re-purchase this lippie as soon as my current one is finished!

This lipstick retails for £15 on the MAC Cosmetics homepage!

I'd love to know what you think of this lipstick! What's your favourite MAC lipstick? And please tell me what finish you like most!

I hope you'll have a lovely thursday!
